Job 33:14 For God does speak - now one way, now another - though man may not perceive it.

The way God talks to mankind, in terms of the normal way, or in the most common manner, is through stumbling blocks.

That is the reason the unrepentant will not listen, stop, or change their ways. It is the reason we reject God's teachers, preachers, and saints. Because we seek to avoid the stumbling blocks of God, we talk around the ways of God. It is the stubbornness of a wicked heart that refuses to be tripped up. We will gladly give God and man lip service to reform, or to apologize, for our questionable wrongs if it gives us the delusion that we can over-step the stumbling blocks.
